Origami Christmas Tree

Had a bad start to the week yesterday, got home from work to find smoke coming out of bonnet of car, all is OK now and will hopefully remain OK.

So decided as i had the morning off  this morning i would spend it crafting,
so had a look on u tube to see what i could make and found these origami Christmas trees,
they looked very difficult to make but were surprisingly very easy

From starting from 4 pieces of paper i ended up with 2 different, but similar effects, the first being my favourite,

What do you think

Damson Gin

After several weeks of soaking damsons in gin, i decided its time to drain it and re bottle it ready for Christmas pressies

I covered a biscuit barrel with papermania Christmas tree paper, edged it with green ribbon and put some green merry Christmas ribbon around the middle

I wrapped the bottle of Gin in green tissue paper and let it spill out over the barrel

Nice Christmas present, i think

And the Gin tastes nice as well

Wedding Card No 2

I have had a very busy and enjoyable weekend card making

Wedding Card number 2 made, i think I'm happier with this one

This time i used a white card, i used a silvery/grey shimmer textured card from papermania as the background and edged it with silver stickles but my hand is not very steady !!

I made a wedding cake from silver angel hair, I used some of Tia's silver beads for the stand and some ivory beads for the pillars between the cake

Fairly happy with the out come

So which do you think is best?

wedding card

I was asked by a friend at work to do a wedding card for her cousin who is getting married
at the end of the month, never attempted a wedding card before, i had some ideas but they never really turned out how i hoped they would, so, i may have to try and do another one tomorrow, then she can choose one of them or decline them both.

I used the gold angel hair as a background to the cream card, i then used some cream ribbon from my collection to make a bow,  i used some die cuts for the wedding cake and congratulations sign and borrowed a bracelet of Tia's for the pink hearts

Unfortunately it didn't turn out quite like i hoped it would, hopefully tomorrows attempt will be better

snow flake cards

I love this range of cards, especially the snowflakes.

I used on odd piece of blue  paper from craft club as the backing of the card,
then applied some silver stickles to highlight the snow flakes
I applied a 'happy christmas'die cut onto the same blue paper and edged it with the silver stickles

More of the same but slighty different coulours

This time i used a lighter blue as the background and edged it with papermania bluey sparkles glitter

Very simple cards but very effective,
well i think so !

Birthday card

I would like to say i have been busy making cards all weekend but only managed 2 !

I love this Papermania Rose Garden paper, the ribbon is some of the many lengths of ribbon i have been given, again i attempted a bow but i think i need to be shown how to do them properly please, Karen or Carrie
I got into a right mess with the strands of ribbon, i was covered in it, but i think it turned out ok

for you

At last i have found some time to make some cards again.

The background of this card has been distressed using tim holtz bundled sage and walnut stain (one of my purchases from today) These were also used to distress the flowers (another of todays buys).
The yellow and brown paper was a freebie out of one of the many card making magazines i seem to be buying lately.
I then attempted a bow with some cream ribbon i had been given, which i thought was ok for a first attempt and the buttons i found in my sewing box

I need some advice though on how to put writing on the front of cards, these were some stickers i had but im sure there is a better and more effective way of doing it

enjoy

Hamper

Since becoming single again, i have found i have too much time to spare, so as well as starting to make my own cards, i decided  to make some chutneys with the fruit and vegetables from my garden.
I have now made green tomato chutney and apple chutney.

I decided to make a hamper with the chutneys i had made as well as some apples out of the garden and my mums, damson jam, damson and apple jelly and beetroot relish.

This hamper was donated as a tombola prize for charity.

Im hoping to make some more at the weekend as still got loads more apples
and some tomatoes still to use up

Hi All
Well i have managed to upload a picture of one of my recent cards.
I saw this idea on the internet and thought i would give it a try, it did take a few attempts to get the folds etc right but im quite pleased with the outcome.
I need to learn how to make bows better though!
Sorry, not sure what make the paper is, in future i will try and keep packaging so i can let you know in future and the ribbon has been borrowed out of tia's box of bits, sorry tia.
